The route

A high-altitude loop through Campoo, on the shores of the Embalse del Ebro. You leave Reinosa, cross Arroyo and follow the north bank of the reservoir towards Orzales and La Costana on tracks and livestock paths, with open views over the water and the Campoo mountains. You return along the other bank to Arroyo and Reinosa. A mix of track, land-consolidation path and quiet local road. Water and bars in Reinosa, Arroyo and La Costana. You are above 800 metres: best from May to October; in winter it is very cold and there may be snow. There is free-roaming livestock: close the gates behind you.
