Rules of «Photo of the month»

«Photo of the month» is a free bicis.net contest, whose owner is listed in the Legal notice. Taking part costs nothing and does not require buying or signing up for anything.

1. Who can take part

Anyone of legal age with a bicis.net account and a confirmed email. The bicis.net team does not take part.

2. Theme and dates

Each contest has a theme and dates, published on its page. Photos and votes are accepted from the first day until 23:59 on the last, mainland Spain time.

Current contest: «Otoño en bici», from 25 October to 30 November 2026.

3. The photos

  • Up to 3 photos per person and contest, that fit the theme and always have to do with cycling: a bike, people in cycling clothes or kit, or something that is clearly from a bike ride. Those that do not are turned down when uploaded.
  • They must be yours: taken by you, with no rights belonging to anyone else and no watermarks. Normal editing (light, colour, cropping) is allowed; composites and AI-generated images are not.
  • If anyone recognisable is in it, they must know you are entering the photo and agree. Photos in which minors can be recognised are not accepted without permission from their mother, father or guardian.
  • When it is uploaded, an automatic check makes sure it has to do with cycling, and then a person reviews it before publishing it. We do not publish those that break these rules, those that are offensive or dangerous (for example, breaking traffic rules) or those that are advertising.

4. Votes and winner

  • Anyone with an account and a confirmed email can vote: one vote per photo, as many photos as they like, never their own.
  • When the contest ends, the 10 most voted photos go to the final. A bicis.net jury picks the winner among them for its quality, its originality and how well it tells the theme.
  • The images that show the theme while there are no photos are bicis.net's: they do not take part, cannot be voted and do not count for the final.
  • We cancel votes that do not come from real people or that come from accounts created just to vote, and we may leave out the photos that benefit from them.
  • We publish the winner on the contest page within 10 days of its close.

5. Prize

Each contest's prize is stated on its page. Unless it says otherwise, the prize is that the winning photo appears on the bicis.net home page during the following month, on its social media and in «El plan del finde», with the name of whoever took it. The prize cannot be exchanged for money.

6. Use of the photos

You remain the author of your photo. By entering it, you authorise bicis.net, free of charge and non-exclusively, to publish it with your name on the site, on its social media and in its emails to promote the contest and its results, with no time limit, and to adapt its size or format. You can ask us to remove it from the site at any time by writing to info@bicis.net; if it has already gone out in an email or on social media, that cannot be undone.

7. Your data

We use your name and your photo for the contest as explained in these rules. Everything else is in the Privacy policy.

8. Other things

We may change these rules or cancel a contest for justified reasons, announcing it on its page. Taking part means accepting them. For any question, write to info@bicis.net.
