Gravel through the vineyards of Requena and Utiel

A loop across the Requena-Utiel plateau, inland in Valencia province, starting in Requena, which has a Cercanías and AVE train station. It heads south-west on vineyard tracks to Campo Arcís, turns north towards Utiel on tracks between vineyards and hamlets and returns to Requena from the east. It's almost all dirt and gravel farm track, with gentle hills and little elevation. There is water and there are bars in Requena, Utiel and some of the hamlets. It's worth carrying two bottles. Autumn, when the vines change colour, is the best season, and during the grape harvest there is machinery on the tracks. In winter mornings are cold because of the altitude. In summer, best first thing in the morning.
