Gravel through the Tierra de Barros vineyards from Almendralejo

A flat loop on the farm tracks around Almendralejo, between the vines and olive groves of Tierra de Barros. You set off from the town, which has a train station and parking, and link wide, hard-packed dirt tracks with a few short stretches of tarmac to cross roads. It's a route for riding fast with no big climbs. There's hardly any shade or water in the countryside: take plenty of water and eat in Almendralejo when you get back. Best in autumn, during the grape harvest, and in spring; in summer, only first thing in the morning. After heavy rain the mud here sticks to your wheels: wait for a couple of dry days.
