The route

A short loop through the white villages of the Serranía de Ronda, west of the town. You leave Ronda towards the valley and turn off the main road onto narrow local roads, between holm oaks, olive trees and limestone walls, to Montejaque, perched below the sierra, and Benaoján, next to the Guadiaro valley. The way back to Ronda has the longest ramps of the day. All on tarmac, with little traffic outside the stretch leaving and returning to Ronda. Water and bars in Ronda, Montejaque and Benaoján. Ronda and Benaoján both have stations on the Algeciras–Bobadilla line, so you can get there by train. The best seasons are spring and autumn; in summer the heat bites from mid-morning and in winter the mornings are cold. Take care on the descents, with tight bends and some gravel on the verges.

Track designed by our editorial team on OpenStreetMap (ODbL).
