The route

A long Campoo climb that rises from the valley to the Alto Campoo ski resort and ends at the Fuente del Chivo, at the foot of Pico Tres Mares. The first part is gentle, between villages and meadows; the gradient stiffens past the ski resort and the last kilometres to the Fuente del Chivo are the hardest, already above the forest. At the top it is cold and windy on many days, even in summer: take a windproof for the descent. Water and coffee in Reinosa and the valley villages before you start. The road at the top may have snow from November to April: best from June to October.

Track based on OpenStreetMap (signposted climb CIMA CA15) (ODbL).
