The route

The Piqueras climb on its La Rioja side, a signposted climb that heads up the Iregua valley through the Sierra de Cameros to the border with Soria. Long, steady ramps on the national road, with the odd steeper kick towards the end. There are villages with fountains and bars in the valley for a stop. Bear in mind the traffic on the N-111, and that the tunnel takes a good share of the cars away. In winter it can snow at the top: better from spring to autumn.

Track based on OpenStreetMap (signposted climb CIMA LR13) (ODbL).
