The route

A signposted route in the Caminos Naturales network linking Cáceres and Badajoz through inland Extremadura. It runs mainly on rural paths and tracks among holm-oak dehesas, cereal plains and small villages, with a gentle profile and few long climbs: good gravel terrain with 38 to 45 mm tyres. It's a long, linear route: you can split it over two days or ride just one section and come back by train or bus from the finishing city. The villages along the way are your water and food stops; between them there are long stretches with no shade or fountains, so take two bottles. The best time is from October to May; in summer, only at dawn. Some stretches cross farms with gates: always leave them as you find them and respect the livestock. The signs on the ground come first: check the state of the path before you set off.

Track based on OpenStreetMap (Camino Natural del Corredor Cáceres-Badajoz) (ODbL).

Before you set off, check the state of the road or track and follow the traffic rules. Enjoy the ride.
