The route

The south side of Alisas: it leaves Arredondo, in the Asón valley, and climbs towards the pass on the CA-261, shorter and steeper than the La Cavada side. The road winds up a slope of woodland and limestone, with the Asón valley further and further below, to the top, where there's a viewpoint. Tarmac in good condition and little traffic on weekdays. In Arredondo you have a bar, a shop and a fountain; there are no services on the climb. Fog can appear suddenly on the upper part, so take lights, and in winter wrap up for the descent. From the top you can descend to La Cavada and return through the Miera valley, or link up with La Sía for a long day in eastern Cantabria.

Track based on OpenStreetMap (CIMA climb CA06-2) (ODbL).
