Almost all tarmac: ideal for a road bike. Measured on OpenStreetMap; there may be recent changes on the ground.

The route

The climb to Femenia on the Ma-10 from the Pollença side, at the foot of the Puig de Tomir. The road is wide, with good tarmac and a steady gradient, and gains height among holm oaks and dry-stone walls up to the pass, right in the Serra de Tramuntana. From the top you can carry on to the Monestir de Lluc, where there's water, a bar and a restaurant, or link up with the Coll dels Reis and Sa Calobra. Fill up with water in Pollença: there are no reliable fountains on the climb. Best from autumn to spring; in high season there's lots of cyclist and coach traffic, so ride in single file.

Track designed by our editorial team on OpenStreetMap (section of CIMA climb IB05) (ODbL).
