The Clásica del Pavo reaches its 31st edition and is one of December's fixtures in the Axarquía. It is a road race for all categories: it starts in Vélez-Málaga and finishes up high, in Cómpeta. The first stretch is neutralised and everything is decided on the final climb, between the coast and the sierra de Almijara. And yes: the winners, women and men, take home a turkey. There is a cap of 300 race numbers and entry closes on 10 December. Getting back to Vélez is up to you, so plan ahead.
