How much is a used Scott worth? Addict, Spark and Scale with 2026 prices

Scott is one of the brands you see most on mountain rides and in road groups. That has an upside if you're looking for a second-hand Scott bike: there's plenty to choose from. And a catch: under the same name you'll find entry-level bikes and race bikes that have nothing in common, neither in price nor in what you need to check.
Here's how to tell which Scott you're looking at, what people ask for a used one on bicis.net and what to check before you pay, whether you're buying or want to price your own.
What people ask for a used bike on bicis.net
We don't yet have enough Scott listings to give a brand-only price, so the reference is its category. These are asking prices in active «Vendo» (for sale) listings, not final sale prices: allow some room to negotiate.
| Category | Listings | Median (€) | The cheapest quarter asks less than (€) | The most expensive quarter asks more than (€) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mountain | 98 | 813 | 450 | 1,380 |
| Road | 41 | 1,100 | 680 | 2,800 |
| E-bikes | 48 | 2,080 | 1,500 | 2,962 |
Data as of 30 October 2026, from 218 listings in total. You'll find the full table and how it's calculated in Ciclismo en cifras.
How to read it: an aluminium Scale a few years old with a mid-range drivetrain usually sits in the lower part of the mountain range. A well-kept carbon Spark with serviced suspension goes to the top or above. On the road it's the same between an aluminium Speedster and a carbon Addict or Foil.
Which Scott is it: the families you'll see most
Before talking price, be clear about which bike it is. The family name tells you what it was designed for; the number after it (lower means higher spec) gives you a clue about the build.
Road and gravel
- Addict: the all-round carbon road bike, with more race-oriented RC versions. It's the one listed most.
- Foil: the aero bike, built to go fast on the flat.
- Speedster: the entry-level one, usually aluminium. A good first road bike.
- Addict Gravel and Speedster Gravel: the gravel bikes, with more tyre clearance.
- Contessa: Scott's line with sizes and contact points designed for women.
Mountain
- Scale: XC and marathon hardtail, in carbon or aluminium.
- Aspect: entry-level aluminium hardtail.
- Spark: XC and trail full suspension. On the most recent ones the shock is hidden inside the frame.
- Genius: trail bike with more travel.
- Ransom: enduro.
E-bikes
- Patron, Strike eRIDE and Genius eRIDE: electric mountain bikes.
- Lumen: lightweight e-bike, with gentler assistance.
- Axis and Sub: for the city and leisure rides.
What to check before paying for a used Scott
The frame and the carbon label
Scott uses different carbon grades (HMX the highest, HMF the next). Look at the frame sticker: two bikes with the same name can have different carbon and different prices. Check the bottom bracket area, the chainstays and the head tube in good light. Damage to carbon isn't always visible: if in doubt, ask for a workshop to check it.
TwinLoc and the suspension
Many Sparks and Geniuses have the TwinLoc lever on the bar, which locks out the fork and shock at the same time. Try all three positions: if one doesn't respond, it could be a cable or the shock itself. On Sparks with an integrated shock, ask when it was last serviced and by whom: it's a more involved job than on an exposed shock.
Drivetrain, brakes and bearings
Chain, cassette and chainrings wear out and get replaced; it's no big deal, but take it off the price. Check the pads, make sure the rotors aren't grooved and that the headset and suspension pivot bearings have no play.
Paperwork and origin
Ask for the invoice or at least proof of purchase, and check that the frame's serial number matches. If it's an e-bike, ask for a battery diagnostic at an official workshop: it's what weighs most on the price. There's more detail in the guide to selling a used e-bike.
How to price your Scott if you're selling
- Place it in its category. Start from the median in the table: €813 for mountain, €1,100 for road, €2,080 for an e-bike.
- Go up or down depending on the family and the build. A carbon Addict or Spark with a good groupset justifies going towards the top. An aluminium Aspect or Speedster, towards the bottom.
- Say what you've done. Serviced suspension, a new drivetrain or upgraded wheels sell. Say so with the date and, if you can, with the workshop invoice.
- Clear photos. The drive side, the frame up close and the model sticker. People buy what they see.
If you're after a mountain bike, the guide to buying a second-hand mountain bike helps you check the suspension step by step. And if you're torn between brands, compare with what people ask for a used Specialized.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a second-hand Scott mountain bike worth?
As a reference, a used mountain bike on bicis.net has a median asking price of €813, and half the listings are between €450 and €1,380 (98 listings, data as of 30 October 2026). A well-kept carbon Spark is usually above the median.
And a used Scott road bike?
Second-hand road bikes have a median asking price of €1,100 on bicis.net, with half the listings between €680 and €2,800 (41 listings, data as of 30 October 2026). A carbon Addict or Foil leans towards the top.
What's the difference between a Spark and a Scale?
The Scale is a hardtail: it only has a suspension fork. The Spark is full suspension. For tracks and marathon racing the Scale is lighter and simpler to maintain; for rocky trails, the Spark is more comfortable.
What is TwinLoc?
It's Scott's lever that locks out the fork and shock at the same time. Before buying, check that its positions really change the suspension.
How do I know what spec a Scott is?
Look at the family (Addict, Spark, Scale…), the number that goes with it and the carbon label (HMX or HMF). With that and the groupset you'll know where it sits in the price range.
